Noma comes from a family of Japanese artists and craftsmen. She studied at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. After her education, Noma left for France to continue her studies at the legendary Atelier 17 of the British artist and graphic artist Stanley William Hayter. She was associated with Atelier 17 from 1958 to 1963, after which she emigrated to Italy where she continues to work and exhibit.
