René Boin (1953) is een schilder, tekenaar, illustrator en auteur. Hij volgde een opleiding aan de Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Arnhem. Beweging (of de suggestie daarvan in de nabije toekomst) is een belangrijk thema in zijn werk. Dieren, machines en sport zijn favoriete onderwerpen. Vaak is er sprake van een vervreemdende context. De kijker wordt op het verkeerde been gezet of aan het lachen gemaakt. In zijn tekeningen en teksten neemt René wraak op de werkelijkheid door dingen te laten gebeuren die niet kunnen: iets lichts dat door iets zwaars heen breekt bijvoorbeeld. René exposeert sinds 1978 in binnen- en buitenland en zijn werk is opgenomen in diverse kunstuitleen collecties. Hij maakte boekillustraties voor onder andere: Drs.P, Tessa de Loo en schreef “de waarheid over golf”.
