Manuel Menan, born in Madrid, lived and worked in Spain and the Netherlands and is known as the poetic graphic artist.
Manuel Menan taught graphic techniques at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam and at Loyala University in New Orleans. He exhibited in his short life in museums and galleries in Madrid, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Geneva, Bologna, New Orleans and New York and in Museo de Vilafames in Valencia.
His color etchings are full of symbolism and inspired by the great Spanish masters such as Francisco de Zurbarán. (now on display at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam: a wonderful exhibition: Rembrandt and Velázquez, Murillo and Zurbarán).
