Beautiful bright small painting on canvas of a representation of a stormy sea.
Signed by "Newton"

Framed with a brown wooden frame, the Talens brand is printed on the back of the frame.
The Talens company was founded in 1899 by former banker Marten Talens, as Talens & Co., a Dutch factory for paint, varnish and ink.
In the beginning only office supplies were made, but at the beginning of the 20th century the production of Rembrandt oil paints was added to the activities.
When Marten Talens' son, Hildebrand Talens, became a partner in 1904, the name was changed to Talens & Zoon.
In 1905, exports to the United States and Russia were already underway, and in 1912 a sales office was established in the US.
The factory also expanded and in 1920 it switched to steam power.
During World War II, the production of many products came to a standstill because the necessary raw materials were not available.
A stray bomb also caused extensive damage to the factory.
From 1945 onwards, production was restarted with combined efforts and growth continued steadily.
In addition to expanding the factory buildings, a new laboratory was also opened.
In 1949, Talens was granted the title Royal by Queen Wilhelmina.
The company was now called Royal Factories Talens & Zoon.
