Important work by this strange artist whose painted works rarely come onto the market. A very good provenance from collections of well-known authors and art dealers. Exhibited Villa Mondrian and was in the newspaper with its own article about this painting. Bought myself from Willem de Winter of art dealer Wisseling in Haarlem, invoice of which is in possession. One of his last works in which the figures already have a false grimace on their faces. Is it bitterness or suspicion towards the elite at the famous Boekenbal of the Boekenweek of well-known Dutch writers? Transvestites. Typical Erfmann figures. Oil on canvas. Good gilded Heijdenrijk frame. 100 percent authentic and original. Hand signed FE and dated 66. Comes with two free books about this remarkable painter. Very good condition except for some very light spots of light dirt. Can be cleaned. Recently estimated by NRC Auctions at 12000 to 16000 Euro but not sold at the last auction in 2023.
