Born in 1968 as Fernando Carlo Jr. in New York. Cope 2's paintings were exhibited at individual and collective exhibitions in galleries and museums in the United States, as well as internationally. He is a self-taught artist and a celebrated legend who has contributed to the graffiti street art culture for more than 30 years. One of New York City's most prolific graffiti artists, he began to tag his name in the South Bronx in 1978. He developed his style on the Bronx subways and streets, creating graffiti productions throughout the decades of 1980 and 1990, achieving international recognition with his distinctive style.
In recent years, Cope2 has been hired by Time Magazine, Converse, Adidas, among others. His work reached the virtual world with appearances in electronic games as Mark Eckos: Getting up and Rockstar Games: Grand Theft Auto IV. Today, you can see Cope 2 painting in the studio, bringing his raw energy to abstract expressionist-style masterpieces, mixed with his trademark rounded letters on canvases. Cope2 crosses between the art world, mainstream art and street culture.
