Arie Zonneveld (29 December 1905 / 5 April 1941) wanted to teach as a drawing teacher and decided to study at the evening course of the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. This was in the years 1925 to 1929. Arie rarely provided his work with a date or other indications, only in a few works this is the case. Much of Arie's work from his early period is unknown. Arie probably started with making oil paintings and experimenting with watercolours. Oil paintings by Arie are rarely encountered. Most of the work that one encounters today are woodcuts, watercolours, sometimes an etching.
