Designer Association

(Arnhem 1974)

In 1974, the Academy of Fine Arts Arnhem formed a partnership between graphic designers Loek Kemming, Noudi Spönhoff and Jan van den Broek, and product designers Hans Ebbing, Ton Haas and Paul Schudel.

However, industrial design struggled to get off the ground, so that in 1979 the two collectives decided to merge and market their own products under the Designum brand name.

In 1983 the graphic designers, together with Paul Schudel, continued together in the Vormgeversassociatie and Designum stopped. The VA (formerly: Designers Association) still exists.
