Founded in 1960 - dissolved in 1962
The New Flemish School strived for its own Flemish modernism. Following the 1958 World's Fair, Belgian artists felt disadvantaged and started looking for a way to express a different vision and a different art. This led to the G58 Hessenhuis, but out of dissatisfaction within the G58, the New Flemish School was founded. The New Flemish School organized important exhibitions and had an international network. They exhibited in various places abroad.
