The Ede painters comprise a group of painters who were active in Ede at the end of the nineteenth century. Some came here deliberately, others by chance. In the nineteenth century, Ede was still a rural village. Usually the tranquility of nature was sought out and painted, together with the village and the people. Due to the lack of a stimulating and progressive art climate, the stay in and around Ede has had little influence on the style development of the Ede painters. There is also no mutual connection between the painters, except for the place Ede that connects them.
