Leo BURGS (Goes 1931 - Goes 2020)

Burgs has been drawing and painting since his early childhood. As a child of 11 years old, he was already well-known in Goes. In 1942 he drew the town hall and the old facades of the market on the street with pieces of stone. Johan Melse, known for his engravings, and painter De Somer saw his talent and selflessly gave Leo Burgs drawing and painting lessons for several years. He successfully completed the Famous Artists School. He signed for various weekly magazines in the Randstad and also received international recognition. His work can therefore be found in many countries. Burgs is a versatile painter and masters various drawing and painting techniques. In addition to landscapes, still lifes and cityscapes, his great passion is portrait painting and drawing.
