Harry Balm (1940)

Harry BALM (1940) The graphic artist and artist Harry Balm joined the publishing house De Spaarnestad in Haarlem in 1955 as an illustrator in the drawing department. After a merger with De Geïllustreerde Pers in 1972, he was appointed designer of Disney magazines, including Donald Duck.

The Gallery der Groten was started in 1975. Balm painted beautiful scenes with famous figures from world history with gouache paint, but with a Duck look. The weekly magazine Donald Duck gave a short explanation (with a wink) about the depicted figure with the plate.
